UBP Group Deputy Chairman, MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan, in his message published on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Glorious Erenköy Resistance on August 8, said, “We reiterate once again our determination to protect the trust of our heroes who gave us the opportunity to live in this land with dignity.”.
In his post on his personal social media account, Prof. Dr. Savaşan emphasized that the Erenköy Resistance is an unforgettable epic of heroism in the struggle for independence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people and stated that he commemorates the martyrs with mercy and the veterans with gratitude and respect.

On the anniversary of the August 8, 1964 Erenköy Resistance, which is an unforgettable epic of heroism in the struggle of the Turkish Cypriot people for independence and freedom; I commemorate our martyrs who defended the homeland at the cost of their lives with mercy, our veterans with gratitude and respect.
In Erenköy; the spirit of determination, courage and unity was written in golden letters in history. This epic is the symbol of the Turkish Cypriot people's struggle for existence and the eternal sign of their passion for freedom.
On this occasion, I reiterate once again our determination to protect the legacy of our heroes who gave us the opportunity to live in dignity on these lands, and I emphasize that we will cherish their cherished memories forever.
